New York, United States (Running Africa) — Nigerian-American fashion creator and model Wisdom Kaye has received the 2026 Virgil Abloh Award, adding another major honor to a career that has taken him from TikTok fashion videos to the runways of some of the world’s biggest luxury brands.
Kaye received the award at Harlem’s Fashion Row’s 19th Annual Fashion Show & Style Awards in New York.
Presented with support from LVMH, the award celebrates creatives whose work reflects the late Ghanaian-American designer Virgil Abloh’s approach to innovation, cultural representation, and the intersection of fashion and digital media.

Kaye was recognized for combining styling, modeling, and cinematic digital content to build a distinctive presence in contemporary fashion.

From Nigeria and Houston to TikTok Fashion Fame
Born in Nigeria and raised in Houston, Texas, Kaye developed an interest in fashion during high school.
His breakthrough came after he began posting fashion videos on TikTok in 2020, attracting attention for his eclectic styling, creative concepts, and reinterpretations of high-fashion looks.
His rapidly growing profile eventually earned him recognition from Vogue, which dubbed him “TikTok’s best-dressed guy.”
Wisdom Kaye Builds Global Fashion Career
Kaye’s digital success soon translated into opportunities within the traditional fashion industry.
He signed with IMG Models and made his runway debut for Balmain in 2021.
