The Nigerian superstar will help curate AfroBank FM in the upcoming video game, bringing African music to its fictional state of Leonida.
Lagos, Nigeria — Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy is set to co-host AfroBank FM, a new in-game radio station in Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), alongside German DJ and producer Palms Trax.
Rockstar Games announced the station on October 8, revealing plans to feature African music spanning different generations and genres, including Amapiano and 3-step.
The announcement gives Burna Boy a role in shaping the game’s musical experience, moving beyond the inclusion of his songs on a video game soundtrack.
Burna Boy and Palms Trax to host GTA 6’s AfroBank FM
AfroBank FM will bring together African classics, lesser-known recordings and contemporary tracks, introducing players to music from across the continent.
Burna Boy and Palms Trax will serve as the station’s hosts, with the playlist reflecting a mix of established African sounds and newer electronic music styles.
The station is among the musical offerings announced for Grand Theft Auto VI, the latest instalment in Rockstar Games’ popular video game franchise.
Asake, Pat Thomas and DJ Lag feature on AfroBank FM playlist
Rockstar Games has revealed several tracks scheduled to appear on AfroBank FM.
They include Nigerian singer Asake’s Joha, Ghanaian musician Pat Thomas’ Gye Wani featuring Ebo Taylor, and Shay’sana by South African artists DJ Lag and Robot Boii featuring Kamo Mphela.
The selection brings together artists from West and Southern Africa, highlighting both established musical traditions and contemporary African dance sounds.
For Burna Boy, the hosting role represents another international platform for African music, giving him a presence in the game beyond a soundtrack appearance.
Although claims have circulated that he is the first African artist to co-host a radio station in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, that distinction has not been independently verified.
GTA 6 release date confirmed for November 2026

Burna Boy’s involvement also reflects the growing presence of African artists in international gaming and entertainment projects.
