Coca-Cola HBC Opens Cairo Digital Hub to Drive AI Innovation Across Europe and Africa

Cairo, Egypt (Running Africa) — Coca-Cola HBC has officially launched a new Digital Hub in Cairo, establishing Egypt as a strategic technology and innovation center that will support the company’s operations across 27 markets spanning Europe and Africa.

The new facility will serve as Coca-Cola HBC’s global digital delivery center, accelerating digital transformation initiatives while enhancing operational efficiency through cutting-edge technology and innovation.

Designed to strengthen the company’s digital capabilities, the hub brings together specialists in artificial intelligence (AI), software engineering, quality assurance, UI/UX design, and agile delivery, creating a multidisciplinary environment focused on developing next-generation digital solutions.

The investment further underscores Egypt’s emergence as one of Africa’s leading destinations for digital services, technology outsourcing and skilled talent, as multinational companies continue to expand their presence in the country’s growing digital economy.

The project was developed in partnership with Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) following discussions that began in 2024, reflecting ongoing collaboration between the Egyptian government and global businesses to attract foreign investment and strengthen the country’s digital ecosystem.

Government officials described the initiative as a significant milestone in Egypt’s strategy to expand digital exports, create high-value employment opportunities and position the country as a regional hub for technology-enabled services.

The Cairo Digital Hub currently employs approximately 250 technology professionals, with plans to increase its workforce to around 450 employees by 2027 as operations continue to scale.

Once fully operational, the center is expected to generate an estimated $34 million annually in digital export revenue, reinforcing Egypt’s ambitions to become a leading technology and outsourcing destination serving regional and international markets.

The launch marks another significant investment in Africa’s rapidly evolving digital economy, highlighting the continent’s growing role in delivering advanced technology services, developing highly skilled talent and supporting global business operations.
