Orange Foundation and ActionAid Launch Digital Skills Training for Persons With Disabilities in Sierra Leone

Freetown, Sierra Leone (Running Africa) — A new digital skills training program will support 150 persons with disabilities across Sierra Leone, following a partnership between Orange Foundation Sierra Leone and ActionAid Sierra Leone aimed at expanding digital inclusion and economic opportunity.

The two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to equip participants with practical technology skills designed to improve employability, strengthen entrepreneurship, and promote greater financial independence.

The signing ceremony brought together key stakeholders, including Orange Sierra Leone CEO Aicha Toure, Orange Foundation Director Annie Wonnie-Katta, ActionAid Sierra Leone Country Director Foday-Bassie Swaray, representatives from the Ministry of Social Welfare, and the Sierra Leone Union on Disability Issues (SLUDI).

Through the initiative, Orange Foundation and ActionAid say they are working to ensure persons with disabilities are not left behind as Sierra Leone’s digital economy continues to grow.

The partnership also reflects the increasing role of cross-sector collaboration in using technology to advance accessibility, equity, and sustainable livelihoods for underserved communities.
